Two Wyoming teenagers were killed along U.S. 14A near Powell. KGAB radio first notified the public about two weeks following the fatal accident. Two others were injured during the tragic crash. The Wyoming Highway Patrol believes the car wreck was caused by slick Wyoming highways covered in ice and snow. On February 16, 2022, the siblings were killed after losing control and sliding into the oncoming lane. They were pronounced dead at the scene. A Help the Hackenbergs' Fund has been set up to help cover funeral costs.
